KARIBUNY’s Social Cooperative

Saporare chose the Karibuny’s Social Cooperative for the supply of Christmas baskets. Since 1991 the company has mainly been involved in promoting fair trade and in 2015 it started a collaboration with the Women’s Association of the Ngakham’s Village, in Senegal. The Baskets are traditionally produced by women and used for different uses, both at home and in markets. They have a core intertwined with palm leaves and in the last period finished with a thread obtained from the recovery of plastic bags. The practice of recycling materials is not common in Africa; for this reason, raising awareness of the population on this issue is very important from a social point of view and to promote a sustainable economy.
